Abstract

Leadership plays a role in making organizations work well motivating employees and driving innovation. In today’s changing world old leadership models aren't enough. Two popular leadership approaches are leadership and adaptive leadership. This paper looks at both approaches their strengths and weaknesses and how they affect performance and employee engagement. Transformational leadership is about motivating employees to do their best. Leaders who use this approach focus on charisma, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. This style works well in industries where innovation is key. Transformational leaders build trust. Encourage employees to align their goals with the organizations mission.
Adaptive leadership is about responding to change and uncertainty. Leaders who use this approach encourage experimentation, collaboration and shared responsibility. They recognize that modern challenges are complex and need solutions. Adaptive leadership is vital in environments characterized by disruption, globalization and crisis management. Leadership is crucial in studies, management theory and business practice. With globalization, technological innovation and economic instability traditional leadership models aren't enough. Transformational leadership and adaptive leadership are two modern leadership theories. They focus on enabling organizations and individuals to navigate change effectively.
Transformational leadership emerged as a theory through the work of James Macgregor Burns and Bernard Bass. Burns distinguished leadership from transactional leadership by emphasizing the leaders ability to inspire followers toward higher levels of motivation and performance. Transformational leadership focuses on motivating employees. It has an impact on employee engagement, productivity, innovation and organizational commitment. In competitive industries organizations need leaders who can motivate employees to embrace change and think creatively. Transformational leaders act as visionaries who communicate a future direction while fostering trust and enthusiasm among employees.
